Mathieu Willcocks - Award winning photographer
I am an award-winning freelance photographer. My wife and I live here, in a small thatched-roof cottage on the Isle of Coll:
My wife and I moved to Coll two years ago after being based in Thailand and working predominantly in Myanmar (Burma) as a photojournalist.
I am best known for my work in photojournalism and humanitarian photography - you can see my work here - but between assignments abroad, I enjoy spending time shooting landscapes, wildlife and the life on Coll.
My work has been internationally recognized by awards such as the World Press Photo Award, the International Photography Award, LensCulture and PDN Photo Awards, and others. My work has been published in The New York Times, Sunday Times Magazine, The New Republic, Roads & Kingdoms, CNN, Al Jazeera, Le Point, L'Espresso, Panorama, among others. I attended the prestigious Eddie Adams workshop in 2013 and completed training in battlefield first aid by RISC (reporters instructed in saving colleagues) in 2015.
I speak English, French, Italian and Spanish so don't let the language barrier get in your way to learn about Coll and Photography!
